UnbeatableCourse-The hardest obstacle course in the history of Halo 3~~PICS - 02-18-2008 , 03:56 AM

Link to the map: Unbeatable Course

BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE GAMETYPE TOO! LINK: Quit Now

For those of you who used to play Farcry, you might remember my courses. They were more difficult than all the rest, and not one person could complete them (although they were possible, just really hard). This obstacle course is no different.

I believe this is the hardest obstacle course in Halo 3 to date. In fact, if you send me a video of you completing it, I just might send you a prize... The map has a VIP mode that must be played with it. You have to get all 8 goals and the custom powerup to win. There are roughly 7 major obstacles, each just as hard as the last. The final one being near impossible. Some obstacles might seem like they are unbeatable, but I assure you, they are beatable. If neccesary, I will make a video of me completing each obstacle individually to prove that they are possible (I am not skilled enough to do them all in a row, are you?).

The map is anything but pretty, but it gets the job done; making you suffer. Oh ya, did I mention every time you screw up, you have to start the WHOLE map over? No instant re-trys! :)

I guess I will give hints if needed. But only if like 5+ people ask. :)

Here are the pics:
The Beginning - Looks easy doesn't it?
Obstacle 2 - Hmm, wonder what to do?
Obstacle 3 - No tricks here, but can you do it?
Obstacles 4, 5, and 6 - What tricky challenges could be in that mess of objects? 1 is a guessing game, 1 is a flying leap of faith, and 1 is a blind back up.
The End - The hardest obstacle of them all, can you finish the course?

Hope everyone enjoys the map. Tell me how you like it, and if you beat it! Don't forget to download the gametype too! Good luck, you'll need it!

Well I give up for today. I can do all of the puzzles individually on forge.

I can get to the mongoose bit fairly consistently in custom (only bit I sometimes mess up is the damn propane tank jump). But the mongoose bit itself I can just never get in custom, it's far too inconsistent to grab that freakin' turret and the endless retrying of the course that I have to do because of it has just annoyed me to the point of quitting, for today.

The warthog bit after that and the very final bit to the custom powerup I can also do pretty much everytime. All I have to do is consistently be able to get past that god forsaken mongoose part and I can complete it.

I like some of the puzzle ideas, I just think the whole "having to restart the whole thing if you make one mistake" is overly harsh.

You have a lot of great ideas but the fact that, even one mess up sends you back to the begining is really annoying and frankly, it's stupid. In your next map, please design it where you don't have to restart the entire course if you mess up. I like each obstacle you have there, except the Mongoose bit. The Goose part is just really inconsistent and definetly not a good idea.

Oh btw, on the very last obstacle(I got to it in Forge; I was never able to get there in custom, lol), with the bridge and the Soccer Ball, you don't need to use the ball. You can just get the Hammer and go over to the bridge and use that to get up.

Crap, I should just delete all those weapons. I forgot about that... But anyway the point of the map isn't really supposed to be fun, it is suposed to be challenging. The only fun part is winning.

The weapons were just there as a reward, and were not intended to be used on the course. If you beat the last obstacle without those weapons, I will consider you victorious!!!

It really isn't that hard, and you can cheat in so many ways. Everything up to the last one is easy to do. The mongoose part, you don't need a mongoose. Just run to the left of the teleporter... I thought the warthog bit was clever, but once you have done it once, you can constantly do it. Last bit was a b****, but I eventually managed to get it...damn that was tough. Yeah, I just used the power drainer to jump up at the end if I mess up. So mainly, everything was easy, the only challenging thing was jump timing on the ball at the end. People must have sucked not to be able to beat your maps in far-cry if this is an indication.

Got a vid? And if it is so easy, why did you have to cheat?

And believe me, the Farcry ones are much harder. The amount of objects and space you can use is almost 5x Halos.

If I had farcry, I would love to try them. And everything up till the last one IS easy, but the last one makes the map 10 times harder, and if I mess up, I cheat to end it, cuz the ball is down.

Can you do the mongoose one legit?

I actually would really appriciate a video of you completing the whole map, because I am not skilled enough to beat it on my own. :( It could be a walkthrough for others. :)

I'm still atempting to get a full run, but If I do, ill definately show you.

The last one seems easier in a forge game practacing than in the actual run :(
And yes, I can do the mongoose one legit.
